LongReach Use Case Examples

Examples of how to use LongReach include :
 standalone folder/file creation and management using mobile device capabilities (e.g. audio, movie, photos, geolocation, and more ..).
 secure back up of mobile device folder/file data to IBM i server.
 private corporate file sharing amongst mobile staff, where your company controls account access to files
 download of instructions and daily work schedules (work orders, routing instructions, job locations, etc) to mobile device users from IBM i server. On notification of completion of any job, the mobile device user can receive the next job instruction, minimizing travel time and cost and maximizing customer service.
 upload of captured mobile data taken at source (e.g. job details - notes, pictures, voice, movie, etc) to an IBM i server for use by Line of Business applications. When used with the arrival notification feature, the LOB application can immediately start processing this uploaded data.
 circumvention of email attachment size limits in cases where administrators impose a maximum attachment size. Use LongReach to transfer the files instead of sending them by email.
 delivery of business reports by email can be problematic when using email on mobile devices. LongReach provides an alternative way to distribute reports and allows recipients to control how and when they download the reports.
 a vehicle crash repair quotation process fits easily with LongReach. An authorised inspector, allocated to assess a crashed vehicle, downloads all pertinent information for the job to a mobile device from a corporate server via LongReach. The inspector then uses the mobile device to record video of the damage, take photos, make notes and record a voice memo. This information can be packaged by LongReach and sent to the corporate server, with notification of delivery, for immediate action.
